Escape the daily hustle and embrace the peace and quiet of Eagle's Nest — a custom-built cottage on the shore of Planting Ground Lake. Two levels, more than 1,500 square feet, and the kind of layout that lets a family of six spread out without ever feeling crowded.

The two main-level bedrooms each have new, comfortable queen-sized log beds. Downstairs, an enormous lower level holds two standard double beds. Each level has its own full bath. The lake-facing kitchen is fully equipped — stainless steel appliances throughout, dishwasher included — and opens directly onto the screened porch.

The living room sits beneath a vaulted knotty pine ceiling, with a large futon couch, two recliners, a 75-inch TV with streaming, and a weather radio for those late-summer storms that sweep across the chain. The lower level adds a table and chairs and shelves stocked with games, puzzles, and books for the days the weather doesn't cooperate.

The screened porch with patio set is the cabin's quiet center — a place for a slow breakfast, a long lunch, or a night of watching the lake go dark. Bring your boat and dock it at the cabin's private dock, or take out one of the rowboats anytime you'd like.
